VAULTED CELLARS
Wormeldange City Hall

Years:
Location: Luxembourgourg
Surface: 265 sqm
Qualification: Patrimonial
Project:
The project to renovate the vaulted cellars at Wormeldange City Hall represents a genuine transformation of a forgotten space into a multi-purpose venue capable of hosting a multitude of events. The vaulted cellars, which were present in the building but previously unused, were upgraded to meet the town hall’s current needs, while respecting their history and unique character.
The project was designed to offer functional, multi-use spaces, while preserving the authenticity of the site. A large hall has been designed to accommodate events such as weddings and exhibitions, with sufficient capacity for a seated audience. In addition, there is a multi-purpose room, allowing great flexibility in the organization of activities, and a semi-professional kitchen, perfectly equipped to meet the requirements of receptions and events.
The interior architecture features both technical and atmospheric lighting, creating a warm, friendly atmosphere. The selection of natural tones, blending soft, welcoming hues, blends harmoniously with the winery’s historic architecture. A cast terrazzo floor, incorporating local Moselle stone, completes the space, anchoring the project in its terroir and reinforcing the local identity of the site.
This ambitious project transforms the vaulted cellars into a modern, functional space, while preserving the spirit of the heritage, and makes Wormeldange City Hall an even more dynamic and welcoming place for residents and visitors alike.
